Cadets in the Community – Bristol

9th March, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The event will focus on Cadets in the Community. It will highlight the important benefits that young people, as cadets, and their adult instructors, bring to the community and to employers. The aim of the UK cadet organisations is to contribute to the development and preparation of young people for transition to adulthood, empowering them to meet the challenges of a changing society through dynamic, military-themed and community-based activities. The cadet forces also aid the personal and social development of young people by instilling in them the attributes of good citizenship, leadership and responsibility, as well as by promoting physical and mental fitness and self-reliance. All attributes of the most sought after first-time employees.

In order to continue their valuable work with young people the cadet organisations are dependent on the continued support of a wide range of stakeholders, including people, like you, in leadership roles in the community and in business. The cadet movement also needs support from organisations and groups such as members of both Houses of Parliament, Central Government departments, local government, , teachers and others in the education sector, supporters in industry and commerce, members of the emergency services and religious and community leaders.

In Bristol there are 1179 cadets supported by 302 adult volunteers across 45 detachments.
