165 Port and Maritime Regiment Partners with B Company, Devon Army Cadets to Develop Future Leaders.

Reservists from 165 Port and Maritime Regiment welcomed B Company, Devon Army Cadets to Derriford Army Reserve Centre for an exciting evening of Command Tasks, designed to challenge and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Led by the Regiment’s training and recruiting team, the session saw Cadets split into teams and take on a series of leaderless command tasks. With a mix of physical and mental challenges, the activities encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills—key qualities that the Army Cadet Force strive to develop in young people.

Throughout the evening, Cadets demonstrated impressive initiative and teamwork, with natural leaders stepping up to motivate and guide their teams toward success. Some tasks were familiar, while others pushed them out of their comfort zones, offering a valuable learning experience in a fun and engaging environment.

The partnership between 165 Port and Maritime Regiment and B Company, Devon Army Cadets demonstrates the Regiment’s commitment to mentoring and empowering young people, ensuring they develop the confidence and skills needed for the future.
