Royal Marines Reservists Train for Battlefield First Aid in Realistic Mass Casualty Exercise

25.03.2025

Reservists don’t just train to fight — they train to save lives.

Recently, Royal Marines from the Royal Marines Reserve took part in Battlefield First Aid training — vital skills that could mean the difference between life and death when deployed in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Thanks to some very convincing casualty role-play (complete with realistic injuries and theatrical blood, expertly delivered by Plymouth URNU), the Marines were put through their paces in a simulated mass casualty scenario — testing not just their skills, but their ability to stay calm under pressure.

This hands-on experience culminated in all participants qualifying as Team Medics — a vital qualification that enhances their operational capability and provides life-saving skills transferable to civilian life.
